ADT 2006 Ramblings
Adt took a lot of my time last week. It is going to get better. I think I have finally figured out the standards and tool palates setup. I think I am going to start over again and set up a few more things. I am going to try to do it in the mornings. Maybe even do it on a separate part of the server. Then I can throw away the not-so-good version of things as the new stuff is ready to go live. So I want to go through all of my old styles for walls door and windows. I will take my template file from 2005 and save it in the office standards folder. Then I will go in and begin to bring the styles into a clean drawing one at a time after I have fixed them. Then I will create a tool palette set from that drawing and write it to the main tools set. That way when ADT wants to create a separate tool set, I can just leave it empty and use the standard tool palates. Then I will have one catalog and one standards file always pointing at the same thing. Then my method for updating the catalog and the palates should continue to work fine. This might be good this way if I need to I can create project specific styles. But I don't see that happening. Standards should be just that.

On the other hand...

Maybe it would be good to be creating a new standards set for each project. This could then be an ever-evolving system.

No I need the UI and environment to be 100% consistent if at al possible.
