Being sick is weak. I have been sick with this flu crap for like 7 days now. I am not enjoying the experience. I am feeling better today, hopefully I am on the mend. Not much else id new really. Work, eat, sleep, Work, eat, sleep, Work, eat, sleep, Work, eat, sleep, Work, eat, sleep, Work, eat, sleep, Work, eat, sleep,.....

It was back to work today. Not to bad. I had a lot of time eaten up by telling stories from my awesome trip. This was a nice distraction from all the lame crap happening around me. I am not getting my review until next year this time and they gave me a 2.4% raise to keep me happy until then... great. Well I gues some raise is better than no raise. *grumble grumble*

Not much to say really. I am just trying to keep up the habit of saying something here everyday. (or every few days ha ha :) )

Oh by the way, feel free to drop me an email. (please no spam or solicitations).

A lot has happened since my last entry. We bought the quads I mentioned and took them on a trip with C & J. We went up to Munds Park and rode around up there for the weekend. I managed to roll my quad already. Fun stuff and no injuries.

Now for the big news. We went on a CRUISE... Oh my god. If you have not done this... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? it was the most awesome vacation I think I have taken since that trip to Europe 4 years ago. The cruise was to Alaska. Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchican. Amazing. We went whale waching and saw Humpbacks, Orcas (killer whales), harbor seals and Bald Eagles from Juneau. We went 4 wheeling into the Yukan and saw lots of georgious scenery, the oldest operating store in the Yukon, and a bearcrossing the road from Skagway and did a little sightseeing on our own in Ketchican. All the while having fantastic meals served to us in style on the ship each night. What an amazing experience. Not to mention the hot tub, the chocolate buffet, the nightly shows, the chance to be closer to the Hubbard Glacier than any other cruise has come before, the crew's freindly and helpfull nature, the amazing scenery out of every window, and dancing the night away in the disco. All this made for a great time I will never forget. The ship was beautiful, the service was wonderfull and everything went off perfectly. I wish I could do it all again this week. However, I need to go back to work to pay for the whole thing. Ha Ha Ha Ha... no seriously...

any how... that was my vacation. Now it is Sunday and I have to go back to work tomorrow. Oh well peaks and valleys, peaks and valleys.

The Weekend is almost over. I wanted to get at least something down. We went Yesterday and looked at quads. I really think we are going to enjoy them. We decided on the Polaris TrailBoss 330. They are a cross between a sport quad and a utility quad. So it should be perfect for us. It is really freaking hot here. I just remember getting back in the car after being in the air conditioned showroom of the motorcycle dealership. It was miserable. I just did not remember how miserable this heat really was. Anyway.
We also went to Best Buy to get a new computer keyboard...
We bought 2 Xbox games a movie and an Xbox controller.
Their keyboard selection was dismal. We went to Fry's later that night and found a much better selection. I ended up with a mini keyboard. It is cool and high- tech looking. I also got a neon light for under the front of my monitor. This of course spurred me to redecorate my computer/music room. I have both computers together on the desk now. It is actually clean. So that pretty much brings us up to date. I spent this morning finishing the cleaning and reorganization process in my room. Then I spent a few hours playing Earth & Beyond (online role playing game). Now I am here writing to a web page that may or may not be read. and even if it is read I will never know. I guess I am doing this to basically have some kind of record of things I may have been thinking about. I was amused by my early posts when I read them a few days ago. So I guess that is reason enough to keep doing it.
Back to work tomorrow...
What do I really want to do about this. I need to answer this question. I need to decide what to do about the fact that I am not very happy about my job. Do I want to reeducate myself or do I just hold on to the job I have. I have a fair amount of security. It is at the cost of my sanity on some days. They just seem to be so petty about things that just should not matter. I mean we are all adults and professionals. I just wonder if there is a job out there where the working environment is encouraging instead of controlling and childish. I need to do some research into the working conditions of jobs in the computer field. "what kind of environment does a network administrator work in." I think computers is more of what I should be doing. Architecture is ok. But sometimes I feel like I would like to be closer to cutting edge technology both at work and at home. I mean I work for a multi-billion dollar company and the computer on my desk, which is the way I make the company money, is not as high-tech as the laptop I am blogging on in my living room. It is depressing. I want I job where I can be exposed to high end technology. Gadgets, computers, audio video, whatever. Is this just a dream. I am a smart guy. I have been sitting in front of a computer for at least 7 years now. And that doesn't even count the time I spent in my high school computer lab. I just need to get more training. I just need some direction. I guess it is time to do some research.
Oh well, Enough about that.
I don't have much else to say so ...

Oh by the way. I have not bought any cigarettes since March 28 2003. So thats like 3 months. Yeah me. ha ha ha
I almost completely forgot about this blog. I was watching TechTV this morning and realized that I had not posted anything to my blog in several months. Then I spent most of my time trying to remember how to set my blog back up so it would be easy to post to it. Now that all of that is done I find myself wanting to get away from my computer. I am hoping to figure out hoe to email in my posts. I read somewhere that it is possible but I can’t seem to find it. I would like to be able to post to my blog from anywhere with my cell phone. I think it will make it much easier to keep up with.
Well I should give a quick life update. I am now working at Toll Brothers. A high end home builder in Scottsdale AZ. I am getting ready to actively start promoting my CD. I need to finish mastering it and come up with names and art work for the cd itself. Lots of work. But I really think I have it this time. I am going to try to sell it for use in movies TV and video games. We'll see what happens. I have to get the dang thing done first. My wife and I are going on a cruise in 2 weeks. I can hardly wait. It is going to be so awesome. It is a 7 day cruise to Alaska. We will be whale watching and renting jeeps and oh so much free food. Well I have a friend coming over to do some recording so I need to get going. It has been nice chatting to you again. Hopefully I will be able to keep up this time. So long for now.

Wow, So it has been quite a few days since my last post... not that anybody is listening. :-) Any way. So things are going well, I have started "going to work". I am now working at the office instead of from home but really not much else has changed. At least not yet. We are still waiting for the deal to be final. But that seems imminent now. The office needs some work, the server room is a disaster area but I guess I knew that. The network seems to be in pretty good order. Good file structures... I digress. Anyway. Things are going along pretty smoothly. The transition seems like it will be an easy one. Nick, the other guy at the office, is pretty cool. He is young, but I won't hold that against him... he he :-) Well I guess thats all for now...

By The Way... feel free to drop me an email if you are reading this... it might help motivate me to keep it going.

Here it is... the weekend. Well I still have a few final touches to put on this project and it will be good to go. Next week should be interesting... lots of new changes... lot of old loose ends to tie up. Only time will tell how this will all work out. I guess I am a little worried about the stability of the new company. But, if I don't take the risk I may never have this chance again. So, head first...
I have been sitting in here on my computer looking over skins for WindowsBlinds and just generaling goofing off for about an hour... and it is Saturday... my day off... I need to get away from this infernal box. at least for a few hours anyway... :-)

Well, another day is gone. I have a big project hanging over my head and the anticipation of the begining of a new company with Duane. Guess thats why I can't sleep. The deal should be done by Tues. or Wed. of next week. Things will really begin to get fun then. This project I am trying to finish should be off my sholders tomorrow if all goes well. Then I have to wrap up a few loose ends. Things are really going to get interesting in the next few days. Lots to do, and a short time to do it. I'll keep you posted...

I am getting ready to start a new business deal with a good friend of mine. This is something we have talked about for years now. It finally seems to be coming true. Well I guess that really remains to be seen. It looks as if things are going forward as planned. I guess I just have to keep giving myself a way to not feel let down if something goes wrong. I have been in a lot of situations where I have let myself get excited about something only to be let down. I guess everyone has. I just feel like I want to try and minimize that feeling by preparing myself for the worst. No... I am just being negative. I know everything will work out fine. I am in a great place to start this business. My wife and I are very happy... we have a nice home... things are going great. This is the last piece of the puzzle. It will be hard work for sure. But the pay off will be worth it. I mean this is finally the job where all of my hard work WILL pay off. This is the job I have been training for. and this time it is for me.... well, and my partner. Duane and I have been friends for a few years. This is a dream he and I have had for almost as long as we have known each other. We are the guys who are always talking about how we could do this or we could do that. Well now we will see just what we can or can't do.

Monday, February 18, 2002

Well, I have already missed 2 days. I was going to try to write at least something in here everyday. Obviously that was a pipe dream. I guess I do have a pretty good excuse. I was busy with my in-laws in town. My father-in-law and I had a great time on the golf course on Saturday. I didn't play all that well, but that is not really the point. It was more about getting to spend some quality time with him. We get along great and always seem to have a good time. The family get together went really well. I enjoyed having both of our parents here at the same time. Lots of laughs... good food... it was a success. My in-laws are leaving tomorrow so things will get back to normal... well as normal as they can be. It also means going back to work. Oh well... without work, vacation would not be as much fun. Well, I don't really have much to say so I am going to sign off.

Friday, February 15, 2002

Hello blog. My inlaws arrived today. They are always fun to have around so it is a good thing. My father-in-law and I are going golfing tomorrow. That will be a good time. He is a very good golfer so he gives me lots of tips while we play. I enjoy it. My parents are coming over tomorrow for a big family Bar B Q. It will be the first time we have had both familys together since we got married. It should be fun. Well gotta go.

Thursday, February 14, 2002

Well the first thing I need to do is get a new page designed to hold my blog and then figure out how to post it to my domain... well another thing to eat up my time. Hopefully I will be able to see this one through. Well only time will tell.
Well this is the first entry. I am not sure what type of thoughts will end up here... but I thought it might be a good place to vent from time to time. I guess I am going to keep this first post short and check out the site.
