Time Flies

Well...

Here we are again in Marching season, adn as you can tell by the time stamp I am up late again trying to squeeze some free time back into my day. All is well for the most part. I am feeling restless, I want to do something new. Although that is really not anything all that new.

Things are going well at the office. Projects are coming along nicely and things are not to stressful.

I am really tired, bt I wanted to try to write in here whenever I think about it.

Oh ya one more thing. I wanna do a podcast. I am not sure what it would be about, Maybe just my personal diary. I just think it is a really cool Idea, and I wonder iff I could figure out a podcast subject or format that someone would enjoy.

I gotta get some sleep... zzzzzzzzzzzz

Things are moving along nicely. We have several projects lined up and a new software package on the way to help.

My sister just graduated high school last night. It was not to bad. The traffic getting there was a PITA. But other than that it was good. We all went to Garcias after for dinner. Good times.

Not much to say at the moment. Got a lot of work to do today. Talk to you soon.

ADT 2006 Ramblings
Adt took a lot of my time last week. It is going to get better. I think I have finally figured out the standards and tool palates setup. I think I am going to start over again and set up a few more things. I am going to try to do it in the mornings. Maybe even do it on a separate part of the server. Then I can throw away the not-so-good version of things as the new stuff is ready to go live. So I want to go through all of my old styles for walls door and windows. I will take my template file from 2005 and save it in the office standards folder. Then I will go in and begin to bring the styles into a clean drawing one at a time after I have fixed them. Then I will create a tool palette set from that drawing and write it to the main tools set. That way when ADT wants to create a separate tool set, I can just leave it empty and use the standard tool palates. Then I will have one catalog and one standards file always pointing at the same thing. Then my method for updating the catalog and the palates should continue to work fine. This might be good this way if I need to I can create project specific styles. But I don't see that happening. Standards should be just that.

On the other hand...

Maybe it would be good to be creating a new standards set for each project. This could then be an ever-evolving system.

No I need the UI and environment to be 100% consistent if at al possible.

Another great weekend. I got my buggy running strong this weekend. I finished the heat cycling on the engine on Saturday night. Then Sunday's bash was a big success. I got some great jumps in with the rustler and a lot of high speed running around with the buggy. I only got one big jump in with the buggy, and I broke the wing mount in the process. It was definitely a fun day.

Things are moving along nicely at the office. I might actually get around to installing the new ADT today. I am excited about getting back into the 3D stuff. We have a couple of cool projects on the books that will be fun to do in 3D.

Man those virus spreader type are really annoying me. It seems every time I turn around, there is some new scam to try and spread viruses around. It is really getting out of hand. You really just can't trust anyone anymore. Opening email is becoming a very dangerous thing to do.

Just some things I was thinking about. Cya

We got ADT 2006 today, but it looks like it will be a few days before I get a chance to load it. I have a project that was dumped on me that I now have to complete before I can move on to the next thing.

I really wanted to start the break-in of my buggy last night, But it just didn't happen. I was afraid I would not have enough time to get the heat cycles in so I just skipped it till Fri. Hopefully I will be able to get a few cycles in on Fri. and then finish it up on Sat. I can't wait to get that thing going.

Concert night tonight. I have to go up to my wife's concert tonight and set up the sound. It should be pretty smooth, I will have some kids to help. I just have to remember to keep my cool. We tend to get a little testy with each other during these stressful times. I am looking forward to this concert because I have not seen this years show yet. I missed it at Disney because I was backstage with the Symphonic band. Should be fun. A late night for sure though. No hobby time tonight.

Well I should get back to work. Cya

Tuesday, May 03, 2005

Well, Here we are at Tuesday. I messed with my new buggy a little last night. Got the throttle and break linkages set up. Now I just need to get a battery pack and a good set of break in instructions. I hear that process is not the most fun, But it will insure that the engine has a long life.

Work is back to being a pain in the ass. I am picking up someone else’s garbage yet again. This one should not be to bad, but that is just not the point. I guess I am just really getting tired of working on someone else’s projects because they can't get them done. Oh well, this is my life right now, I guess the best thing to do id put on a happy face and try to muddle through the best I can.

That's all for now.

Wow what a great weekend. I won a brand new Ofna Ultra MBX 1/8 scale nitro buggy. I was shocked. The RC club I belong to had a raffle last month. It was a great thing. Brought in lots of money for the club, and brought in a new buggy for me. I was really surprised to win. I don't usually have that kind of luck. Once I figure out how to post pictures on this blog, I will have to show you what it looks like. Let's just say it is sweet! I can hardly wait to get it broken in so I will be able to run it at the big bash this weekend. Should be a blast.

I saw HHG2TG this weekend. It was really funny. Just like the book. IT has been years since I read it. I may have to go back and read it again. It was a cool story. The special effects were very cool. Maybe I can go to the movies and have a good time. This is the first in a long line of movies I actually felt was worth the price of admission. Ok well the price was still way to high, but it was a good movie.

This week is going to be very busy. 2 concerts I have to go to one I don't plus the wedding on Saturday and the bash and burn on Sunday. I am looking at the bright side. Each of the weekend days will include a free meal! :)

Well gotta get back to work. Cya.

I just wanted to take a minute this morning and list all of my personal goals. In no particular order.

Big Life goals:
become a better drummer
become a better guitarist
pursue my RC car hobby
become a computer guru
Learn to make movies
Become a 3D animator

Small immediate goals:
Go riding on my quads more often
reach lvl 50 on CoH
Make the end of the year DVD
Write and Record a new album

I was thinking about this on my way to work this morning. That is a lot of things to want to be good at. I mean some of those things really take a long time when you are just pursuing them alone. Like "become a better drummer". Maybe one of the reasons I am frustrated all the time is that I put very high standards on myself. I really want to be the best whenever I can. Unfortunately, unless I pick one (and even if I do) I will probably never be "the best" at any of them. Maybe it is ok just even be lucky enough to try all of those things. Maybe just being able to play guitar is enough. I don't need to be the best guitarist in town.

Just something I was thinking about.

Better get to work! C-ya

Thursday, April 28, 2005

Wow, what a great day. Everything just clicked today. I got a lot of work done and that is a really good thing. I have a lot to get accomplished in the next few weeks. Hopefully my successes today will carry me through this busy time. Things seem to be finally clicking at work. I am not really sure what changed exactly. But whatever it is, I am glad it came. I was really starting to wonder if this situation was going to work for me.

Well here we go again with the end of the year DVD. I have about 5-7 CD's worth of pictures I need to wade through. I think I have learned enough from the previous years to make this one a little smoother. I am going to try not to put it all off till the very last minute as I usually do. Small chunks.

I haven't really mentioned my new hobby here that much. I am really into RC cars these days. I have been through a few cars and finally settled on the one I have now. It is a nitro Rustler. It is a fun little truck. I think more than the cars themselves though I like the group of guys I have met. I joined this forum board AZ-rcfreaks.com Then later I joined the official club. They are a very fun group of people. In fact, we have a big meeting and bash coming up Sunday. I am looking forward to it.

Well that's about it for today.
Well, another day has begun. I am feeling pretty good today. I think I am entering a new growth phase. I have really started doing things to help make my procrastination problem less of an issue. I don't really want to be lazy and forgetfully all the time. So I have started to do something about it. I am carrying a daytimer around now. I don't write in it very often, but when something important comes up, I will be ready. I am also trying to set aside times to do the things I usually procrastinate. Like laundry. If I just decide to do a load of laundry as soon as I get home from work, Then it will just become the habit... I hope.

My diet is another place I feel like I am making headway. My wife and I are really trying to eat better. Fast food everyday has definitely taken its toll. Now I have to do something about it. And I am. Better breakfasts, better dinners. Lunches are still a challenge. I still hit up the fast food spots for lunch. But I am trying not to order the bucket of Pepsi and the huge box of fries. Pepsi is my one big downfall. I love that stuff, but it is so bad for me.

Every time I sit down to write in this thing, I can't decide what to write about. Maybe I don't really need a blog. Maybe it is because I am not really sure what this blog is supposed to be about. I mean "things I think about from day to day" Man this covers a pretty wide range of topics. Maybe I should narrow the focus a little. Or maybe it is ok if it is just random thoughts that don't all fit into neat little packages.

Yes I like that. Just random thoughts. Well ok then. This feels a lot like talking to myself. Does bloggin make you insane. I guess it only makes you insane if you talk to your blog. Wow It is late and I am rambling on. Well that a good thing because I am finally keeping... Oh darn it, I said I wasn't going to do that anymore. Well that is a good thing because... Because...

So how about those (insert you favorite sports team here)?

Its late, I should just stop... Go to bed... Get some sleep... (somewhere there is an English teacher cringing)

Ok I am out of here.
Ok well I can see myself getting into this again. I just need to take some time and get things setup to make it fun. I think I want to try to set up a blogging schedule. Almost like a "this is my time to blog" type thing. Hopefully I will come up with some decent topics instead of just making every post "Man I really need to keep up..." as it has been so far.

Thats it... this is a new rule for my blog. No more posts talking about how I need to post more. Thats over now, it ends here.

Ok then. Now that is behind me. Let's move on.

After 3 years, the blog gets a face lift. I just slapped on a new template for now. I will get into adjusting it and customizing it later. I just thought it was time for a new look.

I guess it could be said that it is a good thing I can't seem to keep up with this thing. I guess it just means I have better things to do. I am living life and making things happen. I am getting things done and being a productive.... wait a minute... thats not it. I am just lazy. Hmmm Note to self: work on lazyiness issue.

Maybe less computer games and TV and more productive behavior. Only time will tell.
Good morning.

Well the Disney trip is over. Man those are good kids. No issues, everyone on time. It was a great trip. We did a lot. I was exhausted pretty much everyday. Up early in the morning, up till late at night. But as I said it was a good trip.

Well I got a lot of work to get done to day, so I am going to get to it.

Tuesday, April 19, 2005

Man I am way behind on this thing. It has been almost an entire year since I wrote in here. Man thats just crazy. Well where do I begin.

Another Disney trip:
My wife and I are taking the band and choir kids to Disneyland again. Another fun trip. I really do enjoy going on these trips. It is a nice break from the normal routine.

The Job Situation:
Well if you can beleave it, I am back working with Duane. Man I never thought that would happen, but here I am. It really has not been to bad this time. Things are different. We have both grown adn seem to be able to take each others crap a little better. Business is good. We are getting work. Thats always a good thing.

The personal life:
Well the only new thing here is my new found hobby of RC cars. It has taken wuite a bit of money, but I am enjoying it. I have built a couple of cars now and settled on a nitro rustler. I will have to post some pics later.

Overall:
Things are sort of up and down. I have my good days and bad like anyone I guess. I just wish I could keep the bad days from being so bad. I really think I am gonna try to keep up with this thing better... I kno I know I say that in almost every post. And still they end up months apart. Oh well I gues some is better than none right?

Well I added a link to this blog on my start page. Maybe that will help.

So long for now.
